SENSUALITY

SEXUAL NATURE

THAT IS DEROGATORY

AND OBJECTIFYING.

Photography & lighting for DONE The Magazine, No. 03 Featuring Ella Bridgeman of SELVA Sensory.

Sensuality is often tied to a sexual nature that is derogatory and objectifying. This narrative, weaponized for centuries, has been used as a form of mental and physical oppression, especially towards womxn. It’s time for liberation from this idea. Ella Bridgeman shares that sensuality is not inherently sexual. Through her own olfaction label, SELVA, she defines it as a recognition — a kind of claiming or reclaiming — of one’s highest self. Scent has the ability to transport us, impacting self-awareness. It’s time for a return to sensuality.

Magazine page spread featuring an article about sensuality and a photograph of a woman in profile with her eyes closed, illuminated by a red lamp, wearing diamond earrings and a leopard print dress.
